The 2024 China-Korea Poets Exchange was held in Qingdao from November 12 to 13 where poets from China and Korea gathered to connect through poetry and envision the future landscape of East Asian poetic expression.
The event was organized by the Qingdao branch of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Qingdao Daily News Group, and the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles (CFLAC), with the Qingdao Museum of Literature as the host. Centered on the theme of poetry, Chinese and Korean poets engaged in diverse interactions throughout the city. Highlights included a symposium on the “Future Possibilities of East Asian Poetry” at Liangyou Bookstore • Tower 1901, where poets discussed a range of topics, and the “PLUS ONE” New Works Sharing and Reader Meetup, where poets shared their latest pieces with attendees.
During the exchange, Chinese and Korean poets also took part in cultural excursions such as the "On the East China Sea Today" dialogue at Laoshan and the "East Meets West" city walk through Qingdao city.
