Qingdao's Trade Hits 830.65 Billion Yuan in First 11 Months

Qingdao Customs reports that Qingdao's total import and export value reached 830.65 billion yuan in the first eleven months of this year. This represents a 3.2% year-on-year increase, constituting 27.2% of Shandong Province's overall foreign trade. The city's exports experienced robust growth of 10.8%, reaching 478.13 billion yuan, while imports contracted slightly by 5.6% to 352.52 billion yuan.
In November alone, the city's total import and export value reached 75.64 billion yuan, increasing by 5.2%. Exports grew by 19.7% to 43.29 billion yuan, while imports decreased by 9.4% to 32.35 billion yuan.
Qingdao has made significant strides in optimizing its foreign trade structure over the past eleven months. General trade reached 539.21 billion yuan, a 3.7% increase, accounting for 64.9% of the city's total foreign trade, up 0.3 percentage points. Bonded logistics accounted for 143.98 billion (17.3%), and processing trade accounted for 128.46 (15.5%).
The vitality of market entities has strengthened. Private enterprises, contributing 574.94 billion yuan to total trade (a 0.8% increase), accounted for 69.2%. Foreign-invested enterprises, with a contribution of 159.41 billion yuan (up 6.3%), and state-owned enterprises, contributing 95.88 billion yuan (up 13.4%), also played significant roles.
Qingdao's foreign trade with its top three markets—ASEAN, the EU, and the US—reached 142.46 billion yuan, 99.97 billion yuan, and 86.91 billion yuan respectively. Notably, trade with the EU experienced substantial growth, expanding by 16.1%. Additionally, trade with Brazil, Australia, and Mexico saw notable increases of 17.6%, 18.8%, and 1.9% respectively.
High-value-added products demonstrated strong export resilience. Exports of electromechanical product reached 242.5 billion yuan, a 16% increase, accounting for 50.7% of total exports. Among these, household appliances contributed 37.71 billion yuan, a growth of 21.5%; auto parts reached 22.18 billion yuan, increasing by 4.7%; and containers amounted to 19.24 billion yuan, surging by 72.4%. Concurrently, exports of labor-intensive products totaled 79.59 billion yuan, a slight increase of 0.4% and representing 16.7% of the total. Furthermore, agricultural product exports reached 43.33 billion yuan, a growth of 8.7%, accounting for 9.1% of the total.
There was a substantial increase in the importation of metal ores. The volume of imported metal ores rose by a notable 25.5%, while the value of these imports soared by 27.1% to reach 45.6 billion yuan. This category alone accounted for 12.9% of the total import value and drove a 2.6 percentage point uptick in overall imports.
