The Qingdao West Coast New Area (QWCNA) Administrative Committee signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with McDermott International on the morning of October 28, marking the official establishment of McDermott (Qingdao) Enterprise Management as a new addition to the QWCNA community.
McDermott International and the QWCNA Administrative Committee have renewed their partnership with the establishment of McDermott (Qingdao) Enterprise Management. This builds upon their long-standing collaboration, dating back to July 2008, when China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC) and McDermott jointly founded Qingdao Wuchuan McDermott Offshore Engineering (QMW). QMW focused on producing offshore and onshore oil and gas processing modules, large integrated platforms, and deep-draft floating structures for the energy sector. As a strategic extension of McDermott's China operations, the new venture will provide supply chain consulting, global procurement services, project management, and engineering support, financing strategies, IT infrastructure, and digital transformation services to strengthen and expand McDermott's business throughout China.
"McDermott's partnership with CSIC began in 2008," said Tony Brown, McDermott International's Senior Vice President. "Since then, we've combined world-class manufacturing technology with Qingdao's strong industrial base and skilled workforce, successfully delivering numerous high-profile international projects and gaining significant global recognition. Qingdao offers immense potential, and we look forward to continued growth and success alongside the QWCNA."
