According to the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, the city has recently launched a "credit code" for tourism-related enterprises and businesses to enhance service quality and create a trustworthy, comfortable environment for tourists. By scanning the code, visitors can instantly access essential information about the travel agencies, ensuring transparency and peace of mind.
The "credit code" for tourism businesses, jointly launched by the Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and the Administration on Market Regulation, covers over 840 travel agencies across the city. Before choosing a travel agency, consumers can scan the code with their phones to view key details such as business registration, any penalties, and whether the agency has received an A-level credit rating.
To promote a credit evaluation system and strengthen targeted oversight of travel agencies, Qingdao has introduced the Comprehensive Credit Evaluation System for Travel Agencies—a system that assesses 849 agencies based on factors such as public credit, overall competence, compliance with laws, and service quality. The evaluation resulted in 41 agencies receiving an A rating, 426 rated B, 362 rated C, and 20 rated D.
