Goldwind Science & Technology Co., Ltd. recently held its inaugural Global Suppliers Conference in the Qingdao West Coast New Area (QWCNA), marking the commencement of the National Wind Power Technology Innovation Center's Qingdao branch.
Wind power is a cornerstone of clean energy, playing a vital role in driving the green transition, ensuring energy security, and promoting sustainable development. Goldwind Science & Technology, a leading player in the wind power industry, has ranked first in domestic installations for 14 consecutive years and held the top global market share for three years. The company maintains its competitive edge through technological innovation and supply chain integration. Themed "Pooling Strength for the Future, Linking the Industry Forward," the conference brought together 350 industry representatives for in-depth discussions on wind power development to foster collaboration and integrate global supply chain resources with local industries.
Goldwind Science & Technology signed a new energy equipment industry cooperation agreement with the QWCNA Administrative Committee during the conference. This partnership will focus on industrial chain development, the construction of an offshore wind power operation and maintenance base, and the establishment of the Qingdao branch of the National Wind Power Generation Technology Innovation Center. Goldwind also signed agreements with 14 Qingdao-based enterprises to establish a new energy industry alliance for the purpose of strengthening Qingdao's new energy industry cluster and enhance the wind power supply chain. The event also marked the official launch of the Qingdao branch of the National Wind Power Technology Innovation Center. Leveraging the area's dense network of research institutions, the Innovation Center will collaborate with top global organizations to drive innovation in large-megawatt wind turbines, intelligent operations and maintenance, and energy storage technologies for the Innovation Center to establish itself as a hub for cutting-edge wind power advancements.
The QWCNA has been actively advancing Shandong's green, low-carbon, and high-quality development pilot program in recent years, becoming among the first regions designated as a national climate investment and financing pilot zone, which has also seen the development of the Tangdao Bay Financial Science and Technology Innovation Zone to high standards. The area's green loan balance has reached 48.2 billion yuan, with an annual growth rate of 46%. Key projects, including the Green Energy Computing Microgrid and Fujian Three Gorges Offshore Wind Power Industry Park projects, have been implemented as part of efforts to build a trillion-yuan offshore wind power industry cluster. "Going forward, Goldwind and the West Coast New Area will deepen collaboration across industry, academia, research, and application to accelerate the commercialization of wind power technologies," said Goldwind Chairman Wu Gang. "We aim to drive the industry toward high-end, intelligent, and global development, contributing Chinese solutions and expertise to the world's dual-carbon goals."
